Summery Dress and Winter Jumper.

Denim Jacket - Charity Shop
Scarf - From a Friend
Jumper - Charity Shop
Dress - H&M
Boots - ASOS

I finally did it. I pulled through and managed to sit all 10 exams in the space of one week; two of which were 3 hours long each, I might add. My brain is thoroughly frazzled and my right hand is still recovering from writing pages upon pages of essays. I've had little time to relax in all honesty as it has been a mad rush to buy Christmas presents and organise everything for flying back home. Having said that I am really getting into the Christmas spirit of things as the atmosphere here in Montpellier is just so uplifting and magical. I think that comes with living in a city with all the lights and constant smell of mulled wine and roasting chestnuts in the air. The Christmas market is also lovely and I just wish I had enough space in my suitcase to buy something from each stall.

As well as Christmas shopping, my friend and I managed to get some tickets to see Swan Lake for just 10 Euros each. It was my first experience watching a ballet and it was phenomenal. Although I am more of a fan of contemporary dance, ballet appears so unbelievably effortless and really demonstrates the amazing capabilities of the human body that I cannot help but fall in love with it. Just imagine how much blood, sweat and tears go into rehearsing for one production which is over in 2 hours. It's incredible.

Shall we move onto fashion? Summery dresses with jumpers chucked over the top = my favourite winter combo. It helps that this particular dress has dark tones which makes it easy to team with wintry colours such as black. I picked up this jumper in a charity shop a couple of years ago and haven't really got much wear out of it until recently. I'm so glad I have rediscovered it, however, as it has become a firm staple in my winter wardrobe. Also, it is the warmest jumper, I can even wear it without a jacket. Although, as it was a particularly cold day here in Montpellier (which is rare lemmie tell ya: currently 18 degrees, what?) I decided to throw on my denim jacket for a little extra warmth. I also think the light wash denim and cream scarf help brighten up the outfit and make it look more cozy and casual. I just had to add my lovely new desert boots and I was good to go.

I have a tonne of preparation to do for my return to England mainly being cleaning and packing, urgh. However, on the bright side I am going out for crepes and ice-skating this evening with my friends. It will a be bitter sweet evening as one of my friends was only here for one semester and is spending the next in Madrid. Although it's really sad and I will miss her lots, it does mean I have a cool place to go and visit her. Silver lining and all that.

Because it's my new fave Christmas song.

Brother's Coat and Corduroy Skirt.

Coat - Hand-me-down From Brother
Scarf - From a Friend
Cardigan - Charity Shop
Top - From a Friend
Skirt - Charity Shop
Belt - Vintage
Chelsea Boots - Office

Excuse me while I just give myself a pat on the back for once again creating an outfit consisting of only second hand clothes (except for the shoes - damn you Chelsea boots!). So, congratulations to me and wearing shit other people didn't want which, haha. As I've previously mentioned, does make me just a little bit smug inside and even more so considering three of these items were freeeeee. The first being this lovely brown coat that was previously owned by my younger brother, yes I did say younger. Fortunately for me his monkey arms quickly outgrew it and forced it to relocation to my wardrobe. The texture is a little hard to describe so the best I can give you is that it's a very fine corduroy/ fake suede / canvas. Hope that paints the picture I'm going for here. Regardless, it's really warm and even boasts an inner breast pocket where I like to keep my phone for safe keeping. Also means I actually know when I'm being rung as it vibrates on my boob as opposed to me rifling through my back and finding 16 missed called. First world problems eh? Handy pockets aside, the coolest bit about this coat (sarcasm alert) is that it has a little metal embellishment on the breast saying 'FASHION' - just in case I ever forget who and what I am.

The top and skirt are two firm favourites of my current wardrobe and get worn so much I swear my other items get jealous. The skirt was a fantastic find in a charity shop whilst I was gallivanting across New Zealand a couple of years ago. When I bought it, however, it was twice the length and really mumsy but not in a good way - so I hacked away at it with my scissors, ran a straight stitch along the bottom and then bam, fab new skirt! I've always been a fan of DIY and trying to make something out of nothing as my mum would say.

On a personal note, I am currently in the midst of my many exams and just feeling so pooey about it and sorry for myself. I've done four exams and still have six to go - urgh. I just keep thinking how great it will be when I'm done and I can finally get into the Christmas spirit. Saturday 13th December is my last exam and will be a great day! Mark it in your calendars people as the day I either get drunk or just sleep a hell of a lot. It could very well be a combination of the two.

My old French teacher used to play this to keep us motivated, and right now I need all the motivation I can get.

Grandma Skirt and Stolen Jumper.

Jumper - A Friend (Not actually stolen)
Skirt - Charity Shop
Belt - Flea Market
Crop Top - Supre (NZ)
Shoes - Converse via eBay

Before you ring the police and hang a reward around my neck, this jumper isn't actually stolen. Only partly. The poor thing had been squatting in my house for a fair few weeks after a friend had carelessly left it behind. I just couldn't have it stay rent-free and so decided to take matters into my own hands - then my arms and before you know it the damn jumper was taking up residence on my body. At first I thought I'd only wear it the once, wash it and then return it. However, that first time got me hooked and spiraled into a lengthy and sneaky love affair where I managed to wear it and wash it multiple times; now with no intention of ever returning it. So you see, it wasn't technically stealing. How can it be stealing when it chose me?

Also, please do not be fooled into thinking Montpellier has somehow managed to evade winter. These photos are highly misleading and were taken a fair few weeks ago, oops. Nevertheless, add a pair of tights, boots and a nice scarf and jacket combo and this outfit will take you right through to winter. That's one thing I really love about this skirt and has made me get more wear out of it than I initially imagined. I reckon it is all down to the colour. Although the floral print boasts notions of spring and summer, the dark blue background makes it a piece that easily transitions into the colder months making this skirt the perfect all-rounder, score.

On a personal note I went on a little trip to Nimes on Wednesday, staying overnight - in a rather grotty hotel it has to be said - but it was so much fun. One of my friend's brother is in a band called Tenterhook who were playing at Paloma (a venue in Nimes) along side another awesome Icelandic band called Asgeir. I've added videos below so make sure you give them a listen, your ears will thank me.

Being a busy bee has meant I haven't had time to get snap some new outfit pics just yet, though hopefully I'll get round to it soon. I am also so glad to share the amazing news that my Erasmus grant is finally coming through!! I was supposed to receive it as soon as I started my year here in Montpellier, then they said mid October, then they said end of October - but finally now I should be getting it at the end of this month. Phew. It's such a weight off my shoulders as I was beginning to panic about paying my rent and flights home for Christmas. Also allows me to get all excited for Christmas and buying presents for people. They've put up a huge tree in La Place de la Comedie and it's got me all giddy. On that note, I shall leave you with a couple song.

Because they will give you an eargasm.

Denim Jacket and Doc Martins.

Denim Jacket - Charity Shop
Cardigan - Charity Shop
Dress - H&M
Scarf - From a Friend
Necklace - eBay
Doc Martins - eBay

These pictures are dark and grainy as hell, and I regret the day I broke my camera forever more; but I actually don't mind these photos. In fact, I think I quite like them. And you know what? - I'm just gonna go ahead and say it like a filthy hipster - I like the vintage-y feel, that it looks like I have laced them with three different filters and have added a dusty texture; just so they look like they came out of a rusting box in an attic somewhere. When in reality I only took these photos a couple days ago and didn't overlay a single filter. I guess that's the magic of a shitty camera (Iphone), dodgy lighting and the ability to use the brighten/contrast tool in photoshop (thank goodness).

I feel this has been the first outfit that I've posted with a real 'autumn feel' which I think is, not only down to the tights, but to layering. Autumn to me is all about dem layers. It's not quite cold enough to crack out the winter coat and not quite warm enough that a cardigan will suffice which, evidently, results in the birth of lovely layers. I was quite glad I wore layers in this outfit as the day turned out to be rather warm so my scarf promptly went in my bag and I had to carry my jacket. It seems I am forever waiting for the weather to turn here in Montpellier.

This scarf is fabulous, however, and I am sure it will get all the admiration it deserves come winter. It was also completely free as I managed to nab it when one of my friends was having a wardrobe clear out. I am magically always around whenever my friends are de-cluttering their wardrobe and subsequently I end up scoring some awesome items for free. Perhaps I just ooze an I-want-your-clothes-give-me-your-clothes aura.

I was planning on filming another video (cos we all know how good the last one was, lol) but I have suddenly become bunged up with a cold and sound like a frog has taken up residence in my throat. I am hoping I will be able to film something before I fly to England next week which I am really looking forward to 1) because I get to see my boyfriend again after two month and 2) for Halloween, durr.

Thank you for your awesome comments on my last post, it was great hearing your opinions on recycling clothes and whatnot. Keep being cool and rad.

Because I have been listening to a lot of Nirvana lately. (Obviously I am still a rebellious moody teenager).

Black Skinny Jeans and Borrowed Belts.

T-Shirt - Charity Shop
Shirt - Vintage
Jeans - H&M
Convers - eBay
Belt - Borrowed from a friend
Necklaces - Both eBay

I am currently watching the 1951 version of 'A Christmas Carol' for a cinema module that I'm doing here in Montpellier. I'm watching number 3 out of the 6 (yes 6) versions that I'm obliged to yawn my way through and there's only so much I can take - it's not even Christmas. So with it playing the background I thought I would write a little post for you lovely people.

Remember that haul video I made all that time ago? Well these are the black skinny jeans that I featured in it and, although I am glad of their presence in my wardrobe, I am still on the hunt for the perfect pair. This pair are just, well, a bit lacking. First of all, they're too big. By too big I mean I panicked at the last minute that my arse wouldn't wriggle in and so bought them 4 sizes too big. With a belt the jeans look ok, but it's not the first time I've misjudged my butt. Perhaps in my head I have a butt like Nicki Minaj - I should ask her where she gets her jeans from. Secondly, as well as a gaping waist, these jeans are far too long in the leg. However, I am not sure if this counts as a real reason for the jeans being poo as I am a midget and forever destined to rock a turn up anyway. Finally - and this is a biggie -  literally everything sticks to them it looks like I have been rolling around in a sheep pen. When I wear these jeans I also wear all the fluff known to man. Continuously picking at my legs is not a good look.

And yet, I am still wearing them aren't I? Well, I am not one to waste clothes, nor do I have a disposable income to replace them with the Topshop baxters I have my eye on just yet. Speaking of shopping, I did manage to get up early enough this past Sunday to venture to the flea market in Mosson with my friends. I am planning on putting together another haul video as I really enjoyed filming and editing the last one. I found so many amazing things including a couple belts. You may have noticed the lovely one that I am wearing here, but unfortunately it's not mine and could only grace my hips for a short while. That's the bitter sweet beauty of having friends with good taste in fashion - you can borrow their clothes but you have to give them back... eventually.

As always I hope you guys are well and have a lovely week ahead. Thanks for reading and commenting - if you leave a link to your blog I will always give it a read and a possible cheeky comment back.

Because my friend introduced this to me and I can't stop listening.

T-Shirt Dress and Chelsea Boots.

Dress - H&M
Flannel Shirt -  Vintage
Chelsea Boots - Office
Socks - Primark

I am a poo. I am a poo because I got frustrated at my SD card for locking itself. I am a poo because I thought that biting a groove into it would solve it. It did not. Instead the lock switch broke off and my SD card is now stuck inside my camera. Said SD card is, also, still locked. Which, to cut a long story short, means that I cannot use my camera at the moment and so I resorted to balancing my iPhone on the microwave to take these. I don't think they turned out too badly but I do miss being able to use my tripod. I have been in need of a new camera for a while now so perhaps this was meant to happen - or perhaps I am just giving myself an excuse to splurge out (hehe). I, however, know nothing about cameras, so any advice thrown my way will be caught with open arms.

The unfortunate mishap with my camera, however, does mean you get to see a little more of my apartment here in Montpellier. I am planning on doing a more 'lifestyle' type post about my move here which will include pics of where I'm staying ect. I am at last feeling more settled and that I can actually breathe now that most of the stressful admin is over, I say most and not all because I've still got shit to do but they're just not as urgent. On a merrier note I'm having a flat warming party tonight which I am super excited for as it means I get to meet more frenchies and practice my awful French. Rest assured I am going to drink no less than a bucket of wine.

I am still yet to go on a proper shopping trip but I did pop into H&M an pick up this larrrverly T-shirt dress. I wanted it to be really baggy and loose so I just bought a large and I have to say I do really like the way it looks. Although I can't wait for it to be cold enough for me to throw on a jumper I am quite enjoying this transitional weather. Being able to wear boots with bear legs is a novelty I'm gonna run with until it gets unbearably cold.

Speaking of boots - how nice are these babies that have made acquaintances with my feet? I ordered them online before I flew over here and I was so anxious that they wouldn't arrive on time. Lucky for me though they arrived THE DAY I was travelling down to London a couple days before my flight. These are some lucky boots. I do feel like a bad vegetarian because they are real leather - I keep telling myself that I will get a lot of wear out of them and that I will never buy new leather shoes again (second hand is always ok in my books).

P.S - I would just like to say a big thank you once again to everyone who reads and comments on my posts. It really puts a big smile on my face and I hope I put a smile on yours when I comment on your blogs - So do leave links to them bellow and I will always check them out.

Because this is all French radio seems to play.

Grandpa pants and Short Hair.

T- Shirt - Primark
Trousers - Charity Shop
Shoes - Converse via eBay

My hair is shorter. You might not have noticed because of my lack of posts but it is definitely shorter. I got it cut a couple days before I flew here to Montpellier to just below my chin and I swear it has grown an inch already. I have heard that hair grows quicker in the sunshine, so perhaps it's that - Or it's just all in my head. I really love it this length regardless and if anything I want it even shorter, I will say though that a lack of practice in styling short hair plus humidity equals so many bloody flicks. I constantly look like the mum from My Parents Are Aliens.

Hair dilemma's aside, I did manage to find the time to get some outfit pics. I have no idea why they are so bright when my window is the size of a pigeon hole. I have got the worst room in the flat compared to the other bigger rooms, two of which have balconies (jealous). I was the last to apply for a room though and to be honest it really isn't that bad and there's a balcony off the living area to satisfy my people watching needs. Also, I have really lovely flat mates who have made me feel so welcome I couldn't be happier.

Right, so onto clothes. So you might remember these ah-may-zing trousers that I featured in my haul video a couple weeks ago and can I tell you how snazzy I felt wearing these? Well pretty damned snazzy. They are the comfiest trousers I own, and, who doesn't want to look like they're rocking Grandpa/golfer/pyjama chic for the absolute steal price of £1? No one. I paired them with my fave Jurassic Park T-shirt because I am secretly a 12 year old boy and also to inject a bit of fun into the outfit.

Montpellier is treating me well so for to all those concerned. I still need to sort out about a bank account but once that is done I only have to rectify my learning agreement before I can wash my hands of French admin. I would like to pose a question to anyone who is reading this that is French or has lived in France -  how do you maintain a relaxed way of life when admin is a pain in the bloody arse? I just, I just cant understand it.

Cos this is a happy song.

Grandma Skirt and Montpellier.

Top - Hand-me-down
Skirt - Charity Shop
Cardigan - Hand-me-down
Belt - Vintage
Socks - Primark
Doc Martins - eBay

Long time no blog. As I said in my last post I predicted that I'd be MIA this past week because of my move to Montpellier in France. Also, I only got connected to the internet yesterday. Two weeks without the internet was a struggle, let me tell ya. Also, I have been running around constantly like a headless chicken trying to get all of my admin sorted and, needless to say, I am now an expert at queuing. I've been so busy I haven't even had a chance to properly explore the city. It is so annoying because I keep passing some really cool places whilst on one of my many errands but not having enough to time to stop and look. I reckon I need to allocate a day next week for pure exploration and picture taking.

As you might have guessed by today's photos I haven't had a chance to take any outfit pics yet. However, I have replicated this outfit whilst here in Montpellier but just swapped the Docs for my Converse because it is sooooo bloody hot here by feet would melt if I wore my Docs. When I was unpacking my suitcase my French flatmates laughed at me for bringing jumpers. It's not my fault the internet lied to me! I have also come to realise that my wardrobe is just not built for summer, I had to go out and buy some summer shoes today cos I aint got none. May or may not have bought the perfect pair of Birkinstock knock-offs for 10 euros.

If you saw my last post and watched my amature attempt at a haul video then you will have seen this gorgeous skirt that I picked up when I was in Devon last month. I have worn it so much already by pairing it with different crop tops and belt combos. I am so excited to wear it with jumpers when the weather cools down a bit. Urgh, listen to me eh? In the lovely sunny south of France and I am wishing for colder weather, haha. My urge to wear jumpers aside, I am hoping the warm weather lasts another month or so because the beach is fast becoming one of my fave spots, hello tan.

I'll try to get round to taking more outfit pictures and what not, but my posts might be a little sporadic until I get used to my uni timetable and finding a place to take pictures. Until then, a bientot!

This song has taken over every French radio station.

Charity Shop Haul.

Hello. It's just a quick post before I poodle off to France tomorrow (omg I am so nervous). As promised here's a naff video of me showing you guys all the lovely things I got whilst in Devon and some other bits and pieces. Hope it isn't too unbearable, haha. I actually quite enjoyed the filming and editing process so you never know, there might be hope for me as a Youtuber yet.

I will most likely be a bit MIA until I find my feet this next week or two, but I am sure you guys will all understand. I have got a couple of posts lined up but whether I'll have internet access to post them is another question. Oh man, I am so nervous. Just thinking about it is making my stomach flip. But I'll be ok, right? If there is anyone who lives or has been to Montpellier then hit me up with cool places to go and what not. I really want to make the most of my year abroad and just soak up the French culture like a sponge.

Anyway, that's it I guess. Thanks for being the lovely people you are.

Tartan and Creepers.

Crop Top - H&M
Skirt - Supré (In New Zealand)
Cardigan - Charity Shop
Creepers - eBay
Bag - Vintage

Hello lovelies. I sneaked a few days away from blogging in order to recover from my lengthy travels and finally wash off the smell of gross coaches and trains. After 26 hours of traveling in the space of a week I reckon I deserved a bath, and a long one at that. I've been busy sorting things out for my move to France and finally paid the deposit on my apartment which is exciting. I am still having to pinch myself that I've got a place after being let down so many times. The search was long and hard, let me tell ya. The only thing I have to worry about now is getting along with my French housemates using my shameful grasp of the language. I predict a lot of arm waving and pointing.

Here's an outfit that I sported to catch up with my friends at the pub plus my denim jacket because, oh my, it suddenly got so bloody cold up north. I was shaking so much my teeth were chattering. I guess winter really is coming.

Weather aside, I am absolutely in love with this skirt but never gets as much wear as it deserves. I saw it whilst I was gallivanting across New Zealand last summer and thought it was THE perfect school girl skirt without looking too Britney Spears-esque. It also has pockets which just makes it perfect in my eyes. I can never say no to a good pocket.

My blog would not be worthy of its name if I was not seen sporting a crop top every so often, and this little black number - from H&M - is worming its way to becoming my favourite. This crop top just fits like a dream and I am so tempted to pick up the other colours before I move to France, but I'm afraid my suitcase just downright refuses to carry anymore. Sigh.

On a side note, I managed to sit down and film (yes that's right - film) a little haul video for you guys of what I picked up whilst in Devon and what-not. Once I get my head around editing I will be sure to upload that and share it with you wonderful wonderful people.

As always, thank you so much for reading, commenting and even following my baby blog.

Because a friend recommended it and I just cannot get enough.

Dressing Like A Boy.

Levi's Vest - Vintage
T-Shirt - Ebay
Shirt - Vintage
Belt - Vintage
Jeans - Topshop
Doc Martins - Ebay

Yes I know I am wearing the same vest again, but it's one of those items that I have rediscovered and just cannot get enough of. This is what I wore when I was traveling down to Canterbury so they're a few days old (sorry). The weather looked pretty dismal up north so I thought layering was the best way to go. It was not. I had to ditch the Levi's vest before I ran out the door. However, whilst I was in Canterbury me and my boyfriend got caught in a torrential downpour on our walk back to his place. Safe to say we got soaked. I was wearing my Docs which much to my dismay got absolutely sodden. They're stuffed with newspaper at the moment the poor buggers.

Currently I'm in the lovely Devon but tomorrow I embark on yet another 8 hour journey back to Canterbury. Dis ere is a tru friend. This is the furthest south I have ever been and I'm having a smashing time hanging out and exploring this corner of the country. I have scouted many a charity shop and scored many a bargain so I'll be sure to share those with you when I am back home. We found a charity shop that was everything for a £1, literally everything. I was like a child in a sweet shop.

Childhood relived.
